Blind Date Meme

Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.

That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.

No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.

How to Play
1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc)
2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead!
3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date.
4. For more fun, use the list in the first comment for randomized date locations!

I've, uh... I've dated guys but it's never gotten that far. So I don't know.

[Both of Iggy's eyebrows go up.]

No, it's okay. I've thought of it. But I didn't really REALIZE I was that way until college, and my relationships weren't really long term then and I'm, well, I don't know what I'd call it. I like to have a connection before sex is what it is.

Oh! Demisexual. That's awesome.

[Iggy smiles, reassuring. The instructor gets their attention once more to demonstrate how to use the pottery wheel if they would like to.

Iggy grins even more impishly after this announcement.]

Did you wanna try and recreate that scene from 'Ghost'?

[Oh. Huh. Mark's heard the term before, knows what it means, but he's never applied it to himself? What? Okay, he'll unpack that later.

Especially as he brightens up in delight.]

Yes. Absolutely.

You wanna be Patrick Swayze or Demi Moore?

I don't know. I mean, you have more of her hair, but you also have arms that look nice and long to wrap around. You'd be perfect in either role.

[Just going to plop in front of the potter's wheel.]

I'll take Moore of that.

[He chuckles to himself and moves to shift a sheet behind Iggy.]

You going to care that people are going to be watching us?

[Iggy turns his head to look at him, genuinely puzzled.]

Why would I?

I don't know.

[Mark's blushing in a way that says maybe he would be nervous about it.]

[Iggy smiles brightly.]

Hey. Don't worry.

Now, c'mon! Let's get our clay on here. [Which he does before he starts the wheel going.]

[Mark laughs and wraps his arms around Iggy like he's supposed to.]

You're probably going to be good at this without my help.

Nah, I suck at 3D.

[Grinning, he does start touching the clay, though.]

Ahhhh, mushy!

So the metaphor falls through. What girl wants to get mushy like this with a ghost?

It's okay, I'm not a girl and you're not a ghost. Ahhh! Help me!

[Giggling silently as he tries to form the clay into a cup or a vase.]

[Mark laughs and wraps his arms around Iggy's body. Gets his hands onto the other guy's to try and stabilize it.]

We've got it.

Do we?

[They do. It's not going to be a great vase-cup-thing, but it might just be functional. Iggy is just enjoying how fun it is.

Also: hot guy touching him. Bonus.]

[Who needs great? Who is going to get it their first time?]

I think we do. It's not all wobbly anymore.

True! Okay, uhm, maybe make the top narrower...?

[He glances back.]

And I would think that the top should be... nice and rounded.

[Oh god he's blushing at his own line.]

No. It's nice to just see someone who just... doesn't see a point in hiding himself.
