Blind Date Meme



Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.

That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.

No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.

How to Play

1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc)

2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead!

3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date.

4. For more fun, use the list in the first comment for randomized date locations!

"And if they say no? Do we investigate?"

He had to smile. "We can definitely ask for clarification."

This might be fun.

"Alright then! Bring on the waiters!"

Or Waitresses. He's not picky.

As that was decreed, a waitperson came over to the table, and Angeal nodded. "My friend and I are wondering what you have on your secret menu."

The server just... stares. Like they don't know how to process this question.

"The menus are right there," they observe.

"No, like, the secret stuff. That you have to know about to order."

Which clearly they don't know about so failing at it, but whatever, They can try.

Angeal patiently waited but the staff seemed unhelpful. Or..

Looking at his companion, the former First shook his head. "Maybe they don't have something like that here."

Clint frowns. Yeah, he was coming to that conclusion too and he didn't like it.

"Guess we'll just have to actually consider the menu. Mind if we get a few more minutes?" he says to the server.

Mako blue eyes looked at the server when he heard the person huff and then almost stalked away. However, Angeal only smiled. "Guess we're not his favourite people tonight."

"I mean, I can't imagine why. We're two attractive men, muscles for days, clearly charmers. We should be his favorite," Clint says. But they had given the guy some trouble so he actually did understand it.

Angeal laughed self consciously. This guy was only speaking for himself, right? The former First just wasn't the type to consider himself attractive although he knew all about the fangirls for the fanclubs.

"I'm not sure we are, but as long as he brings what we order, it doesn't matter."

"Yeah, I guess," Clint sighs, shaking his head. "But it'd be nice to be appreciated from time to time, you know?"

That had Angeal blink. "And just how do you want them to appreciate you?"

That might be a loaded question and he realized it a tad too late.

That's a damn good point.

"Um..."

He tilts his head and is clearly thinking.

"I mean, I fight crime. So a lot?"

[heavenlyhonour]

That had him smile.

"You fight just regular people on the street or?"

Angeal let his voice trail off, attempting to learn about the good looking man before him.

"I fight for regular people. I'm like, a super hero. But I started in the circus."

Because he's pretty amazing, and worth seeing.

[heavenlyhonour]

"The circus?" Angeal asked, half amused and half in shock. "How did the circus turn you into someone that fights for people?"

This had to be quite the story.

That's complicated. Clint sighs.

"The two guys training me weren't exactly the most honest of people, and that, uh... led to some problems. And I decided not to walk their path."

Which hadn't gone well for him at first.

"I see." Angeal replied. A thousand memories ran through his mind with different people and experiences with Soldier. So he could totally relate to that statement.

"Glad to see you did your own thing."

[wisecracking_shot]

"I did my best at it. Doesn't always work out, but I try," Clint says with a shrug. "Helps that Cap believes in me."

And when Steve Rogers believes in you, you try harder.

"Cap?" Angeal asked, thinking at first that Clint was speaking about a hat. But a hat couldn't believe in someone, so he waited to hear an explanation.

[wisecracking_shot]

"Yeah. Captain America. Real hero type."

The sort of guy that made you better by association. By wanting to live up to his standards.

Angeal smiled and took a sip of his water. "If that guy is a hero, I have a friend that would probably love to meet him."

Really? Clint laughs.

"Would your friend want to meet me too then?"

[heavenlyhonour]

He paused. There wasn't any need to inform the pup that they'd had lunch together and have him make a big deal out of nothing.

"I don't see why not."

[wisecracking_shot]

"Well, I'm not the sort that impresses people so it's okay if he wouldn't. I understand who I am."

Which was someone not that impressive.
