It's For Your Own Good

Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.
That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.
No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.
How to Play1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc) 2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead! 3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date. 4. For more fun, use the list in the first comment for randomized date locations!

And clearly no rich snobs are going to appreciate these seats like us. Because I've never had this chance before and I bet we can count the hairs on actors' wigs from here! Not that we should. Because that would be distracting.

That’s probably true with some of them, and it makes it more exciting since this is my first time seeing a play! [ She tilted her head at the stage below, and her eyes swept the crowd again out of habit. ] Right, but it still means we can enjoy all the fancy details from here without having to peek around someone’s head if someone tall were sitting in front of us.
[ She could imagine that happening, and it would be disappointing. ]

[Robin smiles and looks around, watching people fill out the seats below. They had of course gotten in a touch sooner because of how good their seats here.]
Plus we can exit earlier, or if we need the bathroom we can slip out without, like, bothering other people as much.

[ She peered over the edge again, really this did seem like the best way to experience a play. Especially a first play! ]
It’s pretty too. I wonder what the stage will be like when the curtains open.
no subject
[That Robin can speculate on, but only speculate. Each director brought their own vision.]
I promise it will be colorful.
no subject
[ She smiled brightly. That was exciting! Something colourful would be rather beautiful combined with the setting, wouldn’t it? ]
I can’t wait to see, then. Not that I would mind if it was, um… less colourful, but it sounds really lovely.

[She goes quiet because there's a brief dimming, raising, and dimming of hte lights.]
Oh! It's going to start soon. That's the sign that people shoudl get in their seats.
no subject
Oh, I wondered why they were doing that. I worried for a moment something was wrong.
[ she admitted sheepishly, feeling kind of silly. ]
no subject
[Does she sound excited? She should.]
no subject
Mmhm! Very. I can’t wait to see what it’s like when it starts.

[She goes quiet as the lights fully dim. Time to watch. And Robin's very attentive to it, and happy to whisper answers to questions that Gray might offer. Mostly though she's watching as the play plays out. And when Intermission comes she leans back in her seat, sighing contentedly.]
Man, this is great so far.

The girl was grateful that Robin was there to answer her quiet questions, offered with fleeting glances before returning to watch the stage with the awe of someone who’d never seen something quite like this before. It was new, and exciting, and wonderful. So much so that her glances at the seats below had ceased, and she forgot to watch for her mentor and signs of trouble, not that there was any for once.
The intermission had her turning slightly in her seat, the closest thing to a beaming smile on her face. ]
It’s wonderful, more beautiful that I imagined. It’s been an interesting story, too.
[ Tilting her head a little, she added. ]
And thank you for putting up with all my questions. You know a lot about this stuff. I don’t think it would have been as easy to follow without your answers.

[She does rise from her seat to stretch.]
So, we could go out and get some drinks and come back, or hit the bathroom, or we could stay here and talk, if you want.
no subject
Hm… I wouldn’t mind a chance to get up and walk?
[ She could stand to stretch her legs a bit, she thinks. And it is so easy to go and come back, given they had the booth to themselves. ]
no subject
[Because Robin doesn't want to, you know, completely abandon her date right now.]
Shall we?
no subject
[ Gray pushed herself to her feet from her chair and nodded with a little smile, more relaxed than she had been when they got here. ]
Will they do that thing with the lights again when we should get back to our seats?
[ she asked curiously, sticking close to Robin as she looked around as they left the booth behind again. ]
no subject
[She guides them out of the balcony.]
Do you need the bathroom?
no subject
She offered a smile, shaking her head. ]
Ah, no I just need to stretch my legs I think… Sitting for a long time and all. But we can stop there if you need.

[ Gray could at least understand that. She had been rather nervous and unsure of the plan this evening in general. She’d never really done anything like this, both a blind date or a play. ]
Then we can just walk around a little till the play starts again. I think that would be nice.
no subject
[So it was reasonable to think that she could always mess that up, you know?]
Alright, walking it is.
[Nervously she offers out her hand]
no subject
[ Gray nervously returned the gesture, taking the hand offered with a little bow of her head under her hood. ]
Right! It would be nice to see more of the theatre while we walk too. It’s really pretty here.
no subject
Well, I haven't embarrassed us both yet. SO that's a plus. Okay. Exploring it is!
no subject
[ If anything, Gray is rather sure she’d be the one to embarrass them with her lack of experience on so many things! Even Add snickered beneath her cloak to himself, knowing how awkward the girl was.
But she’s happy to let Robin lead her around so they can explore the building a little more. ]
