Well damn. Billy barely had his hands on a beer before they descended. The Jockening. And of course Hagan actually goes immediately into something akin to hostility, and Billy sips his beer.

Could be easy to go full 'King of the School' and jeer right back. But he's had time, distance, healing. So instead he gives a soft smile.

"Oh, I'm making a name," he promises Hagan. "Just not in places you would find it. And not everyone wants their name up in lights or whatever, Hagan. Some of us are glad to be alive and living our best lives."

He does offer Steve his own look and smile.

"She doesn't know. Don't ruin the surprise. Even Susan isn't telling her until she comes over for dinner tomorrow."
