“Then do it this summer. Come to California. I know all the good places. Your little girl shouldn’t grow up as ocean deprived as you. You’re a teacher, so you can probably get out of teaching summer school, right? No reason you can’t drive out and enjoy it too.”
Not saying come see him. That would be silly. No one ever does that. No one really knew very well where he was after all. But California in general was better than this haunted place.
