There were few things more foolish than one thinking they were strong enough to face a great lord of darkness in his own domain. Sending in only two people to stage this great strike was just laughable. Subduing them had been far too easy. Jasper had not even had to step in himself to see that it would be done.

He was glad he had left the dungeons intact. The former Luminary was still bound in one now. But the great guardian knight of Cobblestone? Well, there he was, sitting on the throne while there was Hendrik, chained before him. The man needed to wake up. How could he ever begin to gloat if the guy does not wake up?

Since he was chained down pretty damn well at this point, Hendrik couldn't shove Jasper away. Nor could he even encourage the kiss by pulling on that gorgeous and yet distracting long blonde hair the other knight insisted on keeping.

With a whimper in defiance of himself, he allowed the other this brief pleasure because once he got free, he intended to turn the tables and get answers.

Oh why would there need to be any answers beyond this one? Beyond what his purpose is. Once the kiss fades he reaches to pull Hendrik to his feet. "Come, let us see you as comfortable as I might wish you to be."

Hendrik hadn't expected Jasper to yank his ass up, chains and all but he was secretly impressed. And he'd never openly admit it was a turn on.

Nope not happening.

To cover his confusion, the taller knight scowled. "And what does that entail?"

Somehow he was afraid to find out that answer, but his anger bluff was the only card he could play at this moment.

"Shall we not see?" he says with a smile. He takes the chain coming from Hendrik's collar and pulls the man by it. "I've a room set up for you."

Hendrik was half unnerved by that smile. And of course he had to groan when Jasper pulled the collar. "A room. You mean a cage."

Because that was the only thing the other could mean.

"Now now, there will be no bars to hold you."

Just magical wards that Hendrik will have no hope to penetrate.

Having dealt with Jasper for almost his entire life, Hendrik wasn't fooled. He knew there'd be some sort of cage or imprisonment because he was being punished for whatever slights the other had made up his mind about.

"We'll see about that."

What a harsh attitude.

"I offer you paradise, and you choose to irk me instead," he says with a sigh as he pulls Hendrik along behind him. "Because of course you do."

That was ever who Hendrik was. Someone who forgot what he owed to Jasper.

Of course Hendrik fought the chains that so rigorously bound him so all he could do was basically stumble behind and catch himself before he fell.

Paradise. In a cage.

As ever, the taller knight wondered what Jasper could possibly mean by paradise as bound as he was. The oath he swore with the blonde knight as a boy burned through his mind. Maybe the other only meant to keep it as long as he wasn't the man he had now turned into.

And so he remained silent even if his anger was attempting to get the best of him.

Of course it was best that he kept his temper for now. And Jasper doesn't even seem to notice the fury. Instead he pulls Hendrik along until he gets to a door, which he pushes open.

And it's what used to be the King's chambers. It's been done over in deep purples and blues and reds, and very lavishly appointed. The space of someone who is happy to see to their own comfort and pleasure.

"This is where you will be," he says with a smile.

Blue eyes blinked around once he was dragged into the room. And that was when he was really confused. He knew this room even if he had really only been allowed a peek in. His majesty's private chambers.

This was the one room he hadn't been able to get to that night that Jasper had wanted him to, and had to polish all of the armor in the castle due to being caught sneaking out of his bedchamber at wanting to see the Shield of Heliodor.

"Why here?"

"A ruler should have a place suited to their status," Jasper said with a smile. Of course he was here. He pulls Hendrik through the door and drops the chain. The magic would keep the man inside.

"Better suited if it were his and not someone else's." Hendrik replied stubbornly before he was brought into the room.

The chain was dropped and he blinked at Jasper.

"What other ill tidings do you bear?"

Jasper doesn't even acknowledge the sharp comment.

"None. This space is yours to enjoy. There will be those that will bring food or anything else that you might desire."

"Enjoy." Hendrik echoed. But he did listen to the rest of what was said.

"And you? Do you intend to sit by and idly see what I am doing?"

What was the other knight's angle in all of this?

"For now," he says with a soft smile. "You no doubt require time to adjust to your new status. I will attempt to respect this."

Attempt being a real comment there.

"In your world, the only status I would have is that of a slave."


OF that Hendrik was certain.

"You are not a slave," Jasper dismisses. "But it will take time for you to realize you should stand as my partner in all manners."

And it was frustrating that it would take time.

The tall knight felt as if he'd been reprimanded.

"Partner? Do you mean that it is your intention to pursue a marriage?"

He's so lost.

Marriage? Were they truly expecting something so plebeian as that?

"I mean you will stand at my side, as you ever ever meant. AS you swore."

Hendrik didn't reply right away and lowered his head. He might be 'stone headed' or 'simple minded' but with Jasper there were always things in what wasn't being said.

"So you decide now to stand by your oath."

[envious_shadow]

"I have ALWAYS stood by my oath!" he roars in anger, and a nearby stood bursts into flames over his fury. "You betrayed it! Betrayed me!"

Hendrik scowled at the outburst. "And just how have you come to believe that I betrayed you?"

"One only needs to observe to see just how you did," Jasper says with a roll of his eyes. Why does this man not admit to what he has done?

[unswervingcompanion]

The taller knight dismissed everything he heard and turned away. He couldn't see how he betrayed Jasper. He was the one who reminded the blonde knight about his oath and their boyhood pact. And now here he was, off on the wrong side, for all of his brilliance.

Hendrik sighed. He too had been on the wrong side, unable to see clearly until recently.
