Blind Date Meme



Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.

That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.

No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.

How to Play

1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc)

2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead!

3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date.

4. For more fun, use the list in the first comment for randomized date locations!

[He's given far too little for this whole 'meet someone in America' sort of thing that's been arranged for him by his sister. A name. A place. A time. She said something about 'someone who would not find you much stranger than you have always been' and 'might not find the back from the dead thing weird'.

Pietro doubted both of those things. But here he was, three states away from where he wanted to be, walking into some dive bar. How was he supposed to find this 'Dean'? Shouting the name would not really be his style.]

Dammit Wanda. I bet there isn't even a Dean here.

[ The bar isn't that crowded, and the sound of his name has him glancing toward the door before he lifts the bottle he's been drinking from. Sam had told him it was information gathering so he'd shrugged and taken it on. ]

Over here. The waitress will probably come by in a few minutes if you want a drink.

[Ah, there he was. Pietro was comforted by an answer that quickly. He moved immediately to the other man, giving him a look up and down as he comes to sit next to him.]

I am not given to drinking as much. It is not always the wisest for me.

[He extends his hand out toward Dean.]

Pietro.

[ Dean eyes his hand for a moment before shaking it, figuring best to just go along with it for now before gesturing him to sit. ]


I'm sure they have water and other options as well if you're not into alcohol.

Water works. You won't be offended if I get water, right?

Not particularly. Drink whatever you want, I just prefer beer.

You're refreshing. I've had dates that are offended by that.

If that's the only thing they have to worry about, that's their problem.

[Pietro smirks and shakes his head. There are many other things to be worried out.]

You'll tell me later, yes? If there are other things they should be worrying about?

If it comes up, you'll be the first to know.

[Pietro smiles and nods at that. It's good to hear.]

So. May I ask who arranged this on your side of things? I cannot imagine it was my sister that meddled with all of it on her own

Met your sister a few days ago, actually. She's an interesting woman. [And with what he's seen around town, suspect #1 on his list for the cause. ]

Figured it wouldn't hurt to at least meet you.

[Pietro laughs. Wow, what an understatement. Yes, his sister was definitely 'interesting'.]

Wanda is often accused of being interesting. As am I.

In the same way as your sister or a different way?

Quite different. She is... weird. I am merely fast. Faster than you would be able to understand. Which is really something to be impressed by. I can wait while you are impressed.

"I can imagine a lot more than you might realize." It's light enough but he's seen more than his share of 'fast' things.

"So you like running?"

[quick_sass]

Does he like running. Pietro laughs.

"You could say that running is what I specialize in. I am good at staying on my toes."

[raisedtohunt]

"It's a useful skill to have." He sets his drink down.

[quick_sass]

"I could teach you. How to stay on your toes," he says with a smile. Because of course he's smiling.

[raisedtohunt]

"I'm kind of a master of that, if we're being honest." It's one of the reasons he's still alive, after all.

[quick_sass]

Oh? Was he?

"Not as much as I am I should think," he says with a smile right back. He will prove it.

[raisedtohunt]

"Depends on the situation, I'd think."

[quick_sass]

"Well, we could start with some dancing."

After all, he is here to entertain the man.
