Blind Date Meme



Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.

That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.

No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.

How to Play

1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc)

2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead!

3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date.

4. For more fun, use the list in the first comment for randomized date locations!

"Don't set a challenge. I don't back down," he laughs, getting them on a straight away and pouring on more speed. You'll have to say uncle, Nick.

Nick laughs a little.

"I don't feel like backing down, myself," he assures Billy, looking to him.

Billy laughs and he just gets them up as fast as he feels like he's in control. Damn, that's going to be a thing.

"You're just going to be amazing to hang out with, aren't you?"

Nick turns to Billy, lips in a big grin, tone amused as he points out, "I'm not really doing anything, though. You're the one driving."

Just, part of what makes Nick such a good rugby player is that desire for thrills, the willingness for a little dangerous adventure. He isn't going to be scared off by this.

His laughter continues as he whirls them around a corner. Not full speed, that would be too much, but he sure doesn't slow down to a degree many other people would.

"Most people get pissy over how I drive."

Nick gives a light laugh.

"I think it's fun!" Of course, this is coming from someone who plays rugby. Nick might have a little thrill seeking urge in him.

"You ever play rugby?"

"Nah," he says, getting them on a final stretch of road that is just long and lets him keep them going at speed.

"Wasn't really a thing where I went to school back home. And they don't have a team in Hawkins."

[biactually]

"What do they have in Hawkins?" A beat then, "Or what do you do for fun? Other than give some people heart attacks with your driving?"

"Basketball. Football. Baseball. Soccer. Swim. Track. The usual stuff."

Not a rich enough area to justify things like rugby or lacrosse.

"And I can't help it if they can't handle a bit of excitment."

[biactually]

"That's an impressive list," Nick remarks. Then adds, "I would like to play a game of basketball with you."

Nick shakes his head, lips in a semi-smile to that.

"It might be a little much for some."

Hey, there were plenty of sports that could take up his time so that he didn't have to deal with things at home as much.

"Not sure you could keep up. I'm pretty good."

"Is that a challenge?" Nick asks, voice still with that sweet lilt of his, curious and excited all at once.

"There's only one way to find out."

[california_dreaming]

There really is only one way to find out. And he laughs.

"Yeah, I might have to take you up on that."

[biactually]

"I would like that," Nick says all too earnestly. He actually would enjoy the thrill of going against Billy and seeing how their skills match up.

"Whenever you want. We could even go now. Unless you had other plans today."

[california_dreaming]

Well then. Billy grins and slows down to get them around a corner.

"I know a way into the school after hours."

[biactually]

"Billy," Nick says with equal parts amusement and playful scandal, "I think you might be trouble."

And not for a second does Nick sound put off by that fact. If anything, the smile he gives Billy in return for that information screams intrigued.

"Seems like you know how to read people then," Billy laughs as he heads for the school. "You familiar with basketball then?"

[biactually]

"Sometimes," Nick admits, his eyes flicker away, then back to Billy as he adds, "when I'm paying attention." There are some things he missed with his school chums, after all.

"Yes. I'm familiar with a few sports. Rugby is just my favorite."

[california_dreaming]

"Oh, are you going to be paying a lot of attention to me?" he asks, grinning to himself. He'd like that. Guy's got good eyes.

"It's a fun one to watch. I didn't do it because I like my pretty face."

[biactually]

"Perhaps," Nick answers while outright unable to take his eyes off of Billy.

There's a light chuckle. "I've managed to keep my face unmarred."
