Blind Date Meme



Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.

That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.

No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.

How to Play

1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc)

2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead!

3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date.

4. For more fun, use the list in the first comment for randomized date locations!

[Well, that works for Jasper, he's so very happy.]

Alright then, let's see what we can get them to bring us then. Perhaps a sampler.

[He'd never heard of a date with dessert only but then again dates and Terra didn't go in the same sentence. And instead of staring at the gorgeous man, he politely consulted the menu to see about this sampler thing that Jasper was referring to.]

That sounds good.

[One should really take the time to be more creative on dates. Why should such a special occasion be celebrated with only mundane things? At least that is the argument that Jasper would make.]

Alright then. We shall start there. And if we still find room after, we shall seek other things out.

[He lowered the menu and smiled.]

That sounds good. What dessert did you decide to start with?

[Conversation and getting to know this man's likes and dislikes were important.]

There is a lovely looking strawberry cream cake. I shall have a slice of that.

You know, that sounds good.

[Although strawberries made him think of Aqua. And he'd been looking at what was called French Silk pie.]

Then of course we shall have to have a slice or two.

[Or three. Listen, it's cheat day.]

[Terra couldn't help but smile. Besides having a handsome companion, they were eating dessert first. Aqua was going to have a fit when she heard all about this date. But for now, he looked back at the menu.]

Have you ever had this chocolate..French silk pie or whatever?

Yes, I have. It is passable if you enjoy chocolate.

[And Jasper preferred his sweets to be fruit based, so it was not his highest preference.]

[He smiled with a nod.]

I can definitely say that I enjoy chocolate. So I think I'll try it.

Well then, perhaps you shall enjoy it. Please do order it. And what shall we drink?

[Jasper would probably pick a floral tea.]

[He nodded and recalled that he'd put away plenty of munny for this date. At the question, he looked back at the menu.]

Tea or hot chocolate sounds good.

[Wine would be better, but he can acquiesce here.]

Hot chocolate seems suitable to sweets.

[Terra felt himself relax, but just a little.]

Then that's we'll get, unless you want something else.

No, this all seems suitable. Now we must merely summon it to us. And worry not over much on the cost. I shall handle it.

Terra's mouth opened to protest. He had no idea how many times Aqua had insisted that he pay for a date. So his mind just worked and only one question came out.

"Are you sure?"

[envious_shadow]

Really? Now else was he supposed to impress this man if it was not through purchasing their meal?

"I am certain."

[orangewayfinder]

It took him a minute to relent, because Aqua had pounded paying for the meal into his head. So he tried to smile and play it off.

"Okay, you win."

[envious_shadow]

"Yes, I am prone to such things," Jasper agrees with a smile and a nod.

[orangewayfinder]

Terra had to laugh. It seemed this man had been determined to win and that was actually kind of comforting. The man knew what he wanted and how to get it, this wasn't a problem at all in his book.

"Then we'll see what else you can win at."

[envious_shadow]

"We shall," he agrees with a smile and summons the server over to relay their desires.

Terra noticed how the man had such a command to him and the server seemed eager to do the man's bidding. Talk about presence. It reminded him of Master Xehanort and Master Eraqus. Those men had the same time of charisma.

After they left, he couldn't help but smile. "They're pretty happy to do what you asked of them."

It was his polite way of saying 'ordered'.

Jasper raises an eyebrow.

"It is their duty to serve," he says, as if that was all that needed to be said.

Terra furrowed his brow at that comment. But then he let it go because it was what they were doing.

"Right."

It just seemed easier to agree at this point.

Agreement was wise. Jasper was not always the most gentle man to deal with in this way.
