Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.
That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.
No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.
How to Play1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc) 2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead! 3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date. 4. For more fun, use the list in the first comment for randomized date locations!

[Oh man, never leave Zack to the task of finding someone in a crowd that he doesn't know the look of. Talk about scenes being caused.]

"So," Nick turns to Billy, "where are we going?"
Not that they have to go somewhere, just riding in it might be fun enough.

You know, being up here I can pretend for a few minutes that I'm actually sort of rich. And that's nice for a change.
And Steve sorta prefers movies? But I guess it's a shame his parents don't use him so it becomes a shame he doesn't use them. Then there's us. Two cool girls reaping the benefits.

Fuck.]
Yeah, that would be me. Um. Hi.
[In a sports bar. With a fucking guy. What the hell? She was going to throttle Nancy. Okay, she wasn't, but she SHOULD.]

[Okay, she looks equally surprised. Maybe she's clocked him immediately. Or maybe she just hates his shirt.
...which, how dare. Prince would kill for this blouse.]
Nice to meet you? In the most awkward way possible.
Cheryl Blossom, easily 17-whatever works, also here bc of well meaning cousin
Seeing as Toni had been nearly her complete opposite, that was not a turn off in any consideration.
When she enters the milkshake shop, it might be obvious who she is, especially if Betty and Betty’s friends from Hawkins explained who Cheryl is properly. She has confidence in every well placed step from her shiny shoes, her unmistakable red hair freely swaying along with her skirt, her bright red lipstick, and even the way she tips her red, heart-shaped sunglasses to look at Robin over the top of them when she reaches the booth Robin was told to wait for her in. Cheryl's eyes look Robin over, and her lips start to curl up.
“I do hope your name is Robin,” Cheryl says with a tentative smile, “as I would hate to evict a different bird from our booth for the afternoon.”

I really love Mark, he's great ;w;
They do say that too, don’t they? I suppose pennies are a popular focus of different phrases.
[ He’d keep that one in mind, though, if he ever tried to use the example again in the future. But as Mark continued, his expression shifted to something more wistful as he spun the glass lightly in his hand. Meeting things with positivity and hope was a new thing for him, but he wanted to try after seeing that there were people out there different from those he’d kept falling in the hands of. Sure, he had his ‘customer service’ facade that could feign it, but trying it genuinely was taking practice. ]
No, it’s not. There’s a pattern that seems to hold true regardless of where you are in the world or where you go… But you’re right, I’ve seen there is kindness in some people... Even in unexpected places. So at least trying to find the positive and allow for hopeful feelings is better.

[ Rich without the awkwardness of dealing with other rich people. Reines had invited her to a fancy party once, and it felt like she’d stuck her foot in her mouth a few times. Of course, then things spiralled after that, but the point stood. ]
I guess if you prefer movies, it might be different. [ She mused, people did have all kinds of interests she had been noticing since arriving in the city. Still, she was glad to have the chance to see a real play. O-oh two cool girls? Was she cool? Now she’s noticeably blushing, she’s never been called cool before! ] Y-yes! We can at least enjoy them if no one else will.

So, the only thing to do is to try to make sure you pass on at least one of your two attempts. Is there some part of it that you’re less sure of being able to pass with?
[ It was clear Nida had dedicated himself towards the goal, if his diet and exercise routine were anything to go by. ]

Oh yeah, extremely awkward. So you know, if I kill my friend after this, it's not your fault.

[He looks at her long and hard. She looks pretty horrified, but not like she's about to get him beaten up. Hmm.]
They probably thought we'd look cute together because of our hair.
Sooooo.
Are yooooou....?
[He trails off, twirling one hand and then taking a drag from his cigarette. Iggy has very long, slender hands and then way he moves them is expressive.]
I don't even know how I planned to finish that question, actually.
Drink? My treat.
Platonically.

He is a genuine guy with geniune problems. not shocking given he's one of mine
Okay, so for sake of transparency here? I'm really enjoying myself. And I've got a personal rule these days of no more than one drink a night. College party days and all that. You won't be offended if I order something non-alcoholic and maybe some bar food to share? This isn't a ploy to force you to stay longer or anything. Bar food was not part of the earlier agreement. It's just... an added bonus?

Once Nick's settled, he throws the thing into reverse, pulls out quickly, and is on the road just as fast.
"If I go too fast, just let me know."
Maybe he'll even do something about it. Beyond judging.

Wow was Robin ever so tragically aware of being a lesbian before? But hey, this pretty girl was here to meet her? How was that even possible? Wasn't possible. Clearly. But no. No. The girl IS coming over. Holy fuck!
"Yeah. That's me. I'm Robin. That's what I'm named. Unfortunately after the bird, literally. Uh. Hello," she says, because already her brain is short circuiting.
(no subject)
And clearly no rich snobs are going to appreciate these seats like us. Because I've never had this chance before and I bet we can count the hairs on actors' wigs from here! Not that we should. Because that would be distracting.
(no subject)
Are you? And yes, definitely a drink.
[Though maybe there's some hope that she won't have to fend off awkwardness and they can bond over tearing their clueless friends apart.]
(no subject)
I'm not the greatest with magic, so that doesn't help me. I also sorta... I lack presence? You wouldn't think that was something mercenaries need, but it really is.
(no subject)
[He waves over the waitress and orders a stiff drink.]
We're going to salvage this at least a little. Out of spite.
(no subject)
Fast Times for me. That one scene. And yeah, we really are. Nice to meet someone else who gets there needs to be spite actually. Not that Nancy knows about... Fast Times and Top Gun things.

I assumed the chucklefuck who set me up knew - he's a drama major, for fuckssake. Although now I do wonder if he's trying to woo Nancy Drew or whatever and this was a good excuse to talk to her.
Are you not close or is she just clueless?
(no subject)
"Betty did say your friends said to warn me you could ramble," she says as she takes a seat opposite her in the booth, and removes her sun glasses completely. "That checks out."
It's not unkind, despite how she can be, sometimes.
"There's nothing unfortunate about being named after the bird. Robins are lovely," Cheryl assures her with a far more serious tone.
"Cheryl. It's a pleasure to share this booth with you. Have you ordered yet?"
