The Bakery AU

There is just something alluring about the smell of baking bread, about the light sweetness of sugar and the subtle touch of vanilla, and when you add in simple coffee or hot chocolate, well, who wouldn't be happy? Bakeries are often a delight to the senses and to the imagination, each with their own particular character and charm.

Some come with tables to have pastries at immediately. Some offer hot beverages and toasted sandwiches. Some are just there to get in and get out with your precious goods. But one thing is always certain: the employees will be there at stupid early hours to get the work done. Oh, and asking 'is there anything gluten free' will probably get you a less but also a look that says 'why did you even come here?'

No matter your reason for coming, no matter the specific decor of the place, you have arrived here. In this place where the smell of yeast rising is always at nose, the warmth is undeniable, and a connection is about to be (or has already been) forged. Be it with the busy owner, an employee rolling their eyes at a Karen, or just a chance meeting of an old friend in an unexpected place, you have walked in to the bakery and what you do from here is up to you.

Soulmate AU!

Connection. It is perhaps the most desirable thing for any sentient being. The desire to know, to be known, to be accepted. Some seek it from family. Some seek it from friends. Some seek it from their romantic partners. For those who are lucky (or perhaps for everyone but the truly unlucky), the universe seems to be pulling for them. There is already a connection waiting out there, one tied up in fate. Whether you accept that fate or not doesn't really seem to matter, not with the fact that fate seems to believe in people anyway.

Maybe there is a science to it. Maybe there is magic. Maybe it's something else entirely. But it exists. The concept of soulmates, the awareness that they are true. People know how it comes about, how it displays, that it can be platonic or romantic or even cases of rivalry. Either way the person is supposed to know you. Really know you. Someone meant to accept you.

Which could be everything. Or nothing. That's really up to you.

Blind Date Meme



Let's face it, sometimes it's difficult finding someone to share your time, and your heart (or maybe just your body), with. Luckily for you, you have well meaning friends. Unfortunately for you, you have well meaning friends who didn't tell you this was coming. That's right. They have taken it upon themselves (and no doubt friends of friends or family members or someone else who clearly doesn't know you) to arrange a date. Without telling you.

That's right. The dreaded blind date. Which means now you've got to get through at least a reasonable amount of time with a total stranger (or maybe not a stranger if you're particularly, well, we can't say if it's lucky or not) before you can reasonably escape. Maybe it will go well. Maybe this will be the start of the rest of your lives. Maybe you'll get laid. Maybe you'll have a horror story for the ages.

No matter what plays out, though, you're here. Might as well see just how your luck is going to play out.

How to Play

1. Post your character and canon below along with any preferences. Then go back and edit your comment with the next number in order (i.e. first TL is 1, second is 2, etc)

2. Tag other TLs. If a character isn't in normal preferences, ask if they might want a date that goes poorly instead!

3. Optionally, get yourself a truly blind experience by going here and randomly generating a number. Then find the matching TL (numbered back in step one) and enjoy your blind date.
